Soup, chili and girl scouts

GREENWOOD LAKE — Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, located at 25 Waterstone Road in Greenwood Lake, had a busy weekend.
The church held its annual Soup and Chili Cook-off on Saturday, March 11. The contestants provided a variety of delicious homemade soups and chili.
Those in attendance enjoyed samples of all and voted for their favorites.
The winner in the soup category is Rick Robertson for his Cheeseburger Soup.
Tied for chili are Mike King for an amped-up traditional chili and Ann Marie Vitoulis for her Buffalo Chicken Chili.
Each winner received a gift certificate provided by Murphy’s Tavern, Breezy Point Inn and The Helm, all of Greenwood Lake.
In the Kids division, Alexa Milazzo won top honors and a private baking lesson from Jean Claude’s Patisserie and Desert Café of Greenwood Lake and Warwick.
Honorary prizes were awarded to Amber Vitoulis and Nick Fox from Dunkin' Donuts of Warwick.
Last weekend Grace Lutheran Church also hosted Girl Scout Sunday. Girl Scout troops of Greenwood Lake and Warwick served as greeters and acolyte.
Their presentation focused on the Girl Scout’s promise to serve God and country and to help others at all times.
