Silken Wool consolidates two stores on Main Street

WARWICK — Behrooz and Sussan Chakamian, owners of SilkenWool Fine Rugs at 56 Main St., will celebrate their 10th business anniversary this coming July.

Before that date, however, they will move their more recent sister store, SilkenWool Gifts and Home Furnishings at 36 Main St., to the original facility at 56 Main St.

In addition to this consolidation, the owners are planning to open a much larger store in nearby Hamburg, N.J., next to Crystal Springs Resort on Highway 94.

“This consolidation,” said Sussan Chakamian, “will allow us to continue our tradition of luxury and value with a more focused emphasis on greater inventory and better staffing. With the savings on rent and various other duplicate expenses we will be able to offer yet better prices and pass the savings on to our loyal customers.”

She explained that bringing the two Warwick stores together would allow her and her husband to serve their customers better as the staffing of two locations, especially on quiet days, has been expensive.

“We will continue to offer the same services and our great luxury home goods,” said Chakamian, “and we invite everyone to visit our new store in Hamburg, New Jersey, when it opens.”

To make less work and more room for all the moves, SilkenWool is now having an inventory reduction sale.

“Our entire inventory of Home decor, Lighting, Persian and Oriental rugs, Bed and Bath, Women’s Jewelry and all gift items are now on sale,” said Chakamian.
