Shine awareness on children's mental health issues at 5K in Monroe
MONROE — The Children's Mental Health Awareness 5K Walk will be held on Saturday, May 3, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., on the Orange County Heritage Trail in Monroe.
The first week in May is Children's Mental Health Awareness Month. This national month of recognition is dedicated to increasing public awareness of the challenges and triumphs children and their families face when dealing with children's mental health concerns.
In support of Children's Mental Health Awareness Month, Orange County System of Care, a federal grant-funded initiative that gives children and families single source access to the programs and services they need, together with VoicesUnited4Change (VU4C), are hosting their third annual 5K Awareness Walk.
Join as an individual walker or as part of a team. Participants who are collecting pledges should go to www.vu4c5k.eventbrite.com and download the form to record the donations. Bring all collected donations to the walk on May 3.
You may still make a donation online to support a team or individual even if you are not able to participate in the event. All proceeds of your tax-deductible donation will benefit VoicesUnited4Change and their mission. Please use the links below to register or to make a donation.
Registration is free and donations are optional when you register for the event on the Web site listed above.
This event is made possible through the collaboration of VoicesUnited4Change, Orange County System of Care, Orange County Dept. of Mental Health and Family Empowerment Council Inc.
