Sept. 11 services

Memorial ceremonies marking the 11th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the United States are scheduled on Tuesday, Sept. 11:
Village of Warwick
The public is urged to attend the ceremony at Veterans Memorial Park, just off Forester Avenue. It will be conducted by American Legion Post 214 and include public officials, veterans, members of the Warwick Police, Ambulance Corps and Fire Departments, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, representatives of the Warwick Citizens World Trade Center Memorial Committee and others gathered to honor the victims of the terrorist attacks on the Pentagon and World Trade Center, especially those who lived in Warwick.
Visitors should arrive by 8:30 a.m. The ceremony will begin at 8:46 a.m., the time when the first aircraft struck the first tower.
Greenwood Lake
The annual American Memorial Triathlon begins at 8:30 a.m. at the Thomas P. Morahan Waterfront Memorial Park. The Greenwood Lake Triathlon, was renamed The American Memorial Triathlon in September 2001, to honor the victims, volunteers and survivors of the terrorist attacks. The triathlon shirts read, “We Will Never Forget.”

Inscribed on the memorial are the names of the Warwick residents who died on Sept. 11, 2001:

Also Cynthia Wilson, whose name is not inscribed, but was in the process of moving to Warwick at that time.
