Senator Jen Metzger hosts first resource fair for veterans and active duty service members

State Senator Jen Metzger (SD-42) sponsored a free resource fair for active duty service members, veterans, and their families on Tuesday at the American Legion Post 214 in Warwick.

Metzger partnered with state and local organizations to make resources available and provide assistance to veterans and their families in areas including health care, housing, legal services and more.

Drawing almost two dozen attendees, the fair was open to active duty service members, veterans of any branch of the U.S. military, and their families.

Partners included Legal Services of the Hudson Valley, Joseph P. Dwyer Vet2Vet, Middletown VA Clinic, the Comptroller’s Office of Unclaimed Funds, and Orange County Veterans Affairs.

Attendees also had an opportunity to pay their respects at the New York Warrior Promise Wall, a traveling memorial, honoring the servicemen and women who have fallen to suicide.
