Senator Bonacic announces a $75,000 grant to the Village of Florida
FLORIDA — The Village of Florida has been awarded $75,000 for improvements to the municipal parking lot next to the historic Mapes House.
State Sen. John J. Bonacic secured the grant through the State and Municipal Facilities Program, funding for which was appropriated in the 2018-19 state budget.
“The improvements to the parking lot near the Mapes House will increase the quality of life for the residents and visitors in the Village of Florida,” Bonacic said in the press release announcing the grant. “In addition, it will save the local taxpayers money.”
Village of Florida Mayor Daniel Harter said: "The improvements to the municipal parking lot will create much needed parking space for visitors and residents, and will help spur economic activity for our local businesses. I thank Senator Bonacic for securing this grant, and for his continued support of the Village of Florida."
