Second Hand Desire celebrates grand opening

WARWICK — Local officials, members of the Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce and neighboring merchants joined co-owner Walter Welsh for the official grand opening of Second Hand Desire on Friday, May 30.
The shop, which offers pre-owned and affordable upscale items, is located at 16 Railroad Ave. in the Village of Warwick. Welsh is co-owner with his wife, Joanne Magro.
"We have always shared a passion for beautiful art and collectibles," he said. "Through years of collecting we would like to share our passion with others and the choice to move to the Village of Warwick was easy as it embodies that passion by maintaining such an atmosphere of diversity and culture."
Welsh explained that Second Hand Desire features unique items ranging from luxury home furnishings and jewelry to simple gifts for family, friends and loved ones from around the world both vintage and new.
"All of our items are authentic and of the highest quality," he said. "And although the majority of our pieces are previously owned they are in new condition and priced affordably."
Some names that you will find at Second Hand Desire are Lalique, Baccarat, Faberge, Tiffany, David Yurman and Limoge just to name a few. The shop also accepts pieces on consignment.
"We have the lowest consignment fees around," said Welsh." And we are very excited to be next door to The Eclectic Eye where you can spend hours shopping for timeless treasures."
Second Hand Desire also offers various works from local artists such as handmade jewelry, handmade heirloom quality lace, hand forged iron works and hand carved signs. "We have new items entering our store weekly," said Welsh. "So stop in often to browse, buy or just say hi, and make sure you enjoy the many merchants on Railroad Avenue. I promise you will not be disappointed."
