— Schervier Pavilion, a member of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network, has received a five-star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), which rates nursing homes nationwide that participate in Medicare or Medicaid.
Schervier Pavilion is located on the campus of St. Anthony Community Hospital, also a member of the Westchester Medical Center Health Network.
How the process worksNursing Home Compare, a resource on the Medicare website, gives each facility a rating between one and five stars.
The ratings come from a combination of health inspections, staffing and quality of resident care measures at each specific nursing facility.
CMS calculates a star rating for each of these three categories, along with an overall facility rating, with a five-star rating indicating a facility’s exemplary care and physical environment.
“We are proud to have been recognized as a five-star skilled nursing facility and credit this recognition to the professional, knowledgeable and compassionate staff of Schervier Pavilion,” Crystal R. Cummings, System Director of Long-term Care Services at Bon Secours Charity Health System, said in the press release announcing the accomplishment.
Schervier Pavilion is a 120-bed, skilled nursing facility dedicated to helping each resident maintain the highest level of daily independence possible.
Residents can participate in a broad range of therapeutic and social activities designed to enhance their physical and mental capabilities.
Information for consumersThe Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services developed Nursing Home Compare and the Star Rating System to provide consumers with an easy way to search for nursing homes that provide the quality of care they desire.
All of the data found on Nursing Home Compare is provided as a service to the public.
