WARWICK — Providigm, LLC, a developer of quality management systems for skilled nursing homes and other long-term care facilities, recently announced that Schervier Pavilion in Warwick had been one of less than 1,000 facilities throughout the United States and Canada that have been awarded Accreditation for Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) for Nursing Homes and Centers.

Schervier Pavilion, a member of the Bon Secours Charity Health System, is a 120-bed skilled nursing facility licensed by the New York State Department of Health. Its range of services, such as its therapeutic recreational program, are designed to respond to each individual’s physical, emotional and spiritual needs.

Providigm’s QAPI full Accreditation is based on meeting four standards for excellence in continuously improving quality of care and life for nursing home residents.

The accreditation standards include measures of the extent to which nursing homes assess the care they provide to their post-hospital and long-term care residents, and then correct quality concerns.

“This accreditation signifies that the administration and staff at Schervier Pavilion are committed to continuously improving the care that they provide based on feedback from residents and families,” said Dr. Andrew Kramer, Providigm CEO and an expert on measuring quality of elder care. “We congratulate them on their commitment to improve the quality of life and care given to our elders.”

In addition to long-term care services, Schervier Pavilion also offers a wide range of short-term care needs. Its sub acute services include IV therapy, rehabilitation therapy and wound care.

These services afford residents the ability to recuperate for a short time in the sub-acute unit of the facility and then return to the community where they can resume a more independent life. In some cases, they can then enter Schervier Pavilion’s Day-At-A-Time, a medical adult day care program that provides nursing services, medication administration, ongoing evaluations, and stimulating activities tailored to each individual’s needs and abilities.

“We are extremely proud of the work our care team has accomplished to achieve this accreditation,” said Schervier Pavilion Administrator Lisa Brocky. “We strive to give our residents the quality of life and level of dignity they deserve.”
