WARWICK — A special ceremony was held June 23 at Sanfordville Elementary School to dedicate a new butterfly garden in an inner courtyard of the building.
Sanfordville kindergarten teachers Susan Bonetti, Jane Diermeier, Kathleen Frazier and Christina Taylor, along with school librarian Linda DeVries, and their students, all gathered in the courtyard, alongside PTA parents and the honoree: retiring Principal Roger Longfield.
At the ceremony, the children sang butterfly songs and made special puppets.
A beautiful water fountain, plants and a plaque were donated by the Sanfordville PTA in honor of Longfield’s retirement.
The garden was planned and planted with the help and special vision of Sustainable Warwick members Roger Moss and Eloise Ham.
