WARWICK — Two Rotary District officials recently visited the Warwick Valley Rotary Club during its weekly meeting at the Landmark Inn to accept donations for international humanitarian projects.

Kathy Kruger, a nurse and Rotary officer from Pleasant Valley, accepted a $1,200 check from Warwick Rotarians that will help put smiles on children after free reconstructive cleft palate operations and treatment.

The Warwick Valley Rotary Club is a sustaining partner of Rotaplast International, which has as its goal eliminating untreated cleft lips and palates in children by 2025.

Dr. Tansukh Dorawala, Rotary District 7210 Governor during 2011-2012, congratulated the Warwick service club for its ongoing excellence in supporting the Warwick community plus its commitment to district and international humanitarian projects.

During his visit he accepted a $1,000 check on behalf of Pure Water for the World from Warwick Rotary President John Buckley. The funds will be used to provide family-sized water purification systems in a poverty-stricken village.
