Reunite Families OCNY to hold symposium on July 22

MIDDLETOWN — A teach-in/symposium to raise awareness about the crisis suffered by immigrant families separated from their children will be held Sunday, July 22, from 4 to 7 p.m. at St. Paul’s Methodist Church, 58 West Main St., Middletown.
The event is hosted by the newly formed Reunite Families OCNY, along with Caring for our Neighbors Coalition, a grass-roots organization involved in addressing problems affecting immigrants living in Orange County.
Speakers include local immigrants who will tell their own stories. In addition, there will be a keynote speaker, workshops and panel discussions.

The community is invited to participate and to contribute a food item for a pot-luck meal following the event.
