Recyled and repurposed

Taking care of the earth was certainly the message at Warwick’s Earth Fest last Saturday and Sunday at Stanley-Deming Park.
Sustainable Warwick volunteers were on hand to teach residents about recycling, heat pumps, solar energy and much more.
Vendors sold environmentally-friendly products, recycled and repurposed items. There was food, music and dance.
Local artists created tree sculptures.
Children went through a cardboard maze and miniature village, and painted and participated in hands-on up-cycling demonstrations.
The Albert Wisner Public Library, Town of Warwick and Sustainable Warwick sponsored the Arm-of-the-Sea Puppet Theater, which performed “Soil, the Secret Life of Dirt.”
On the other side of the park, on the basketball court, was the Too Good To Toss event. Residents dropped off their gently-used goods on Saturday. Volunteers sorted through and arranged things for the free shopping event on Sunday.
It was a true celebration of our earth and our town.
