Re-purposing Easter flowers

For the second year in a row, third grade students at St. Stephen - St. Edward School and their teacher, Iliana Higgins, have re-purposed the Easter lilies from the church altar and planted them in the gardens around the school. This year, they chose the area below Principal Mary Lou Moccia's window. Picture here is Mrs. Higgins explaining to her third-graders that the lily's stem will feed the roots as the plant gets settled and ready to bloom next year.
