WASHINGTONVILLE — Cornell Cooperative Extension of Orange County, in conjunction with the YWCA of Orange County, will be hosting a free “Let’s Talk About Race and Racism” workshop on Tuesday, April 17, at 7 p.m. at Round Hill Elementary School in Washingtonville.
The workshop was developed to help parents and caregivers to have empowered conversations about race and racism, according to organizers.
Participants will learn about the history of racism and communication skills, including skills on how to be helpful “upstanders” and “what action steps families can take together to be the change they wish to see,” organizers said.
Registration is required. To do so, call Erin Milteer at 497-4000 extension 25508, or email to: emilteer@ws.k12.ny.us.
