Prize winner

Robert G. Breese’s photo of a horse in Amity during an early morning trot last November won first place in Division 3 of the 2011 New York Press Association Better Newspaper contest for art photo. The judges wrote: The action of the horse, coupled with calm fog of the morning makes this photo striking. The pale hair of the horse muddied by the wet soil brings contrast and reality to this picture.” Breese’s work appears frequently in The Warwick Advertiser, among other publications, documenting the beauty and variety of Warwick, its people and its wild life.
