FLORIDA — Local officials and members of the Warwick Valley and Village of Florida Chambers of Commerce joined co-owner Jim Lagarde and his staff to celebrate the official grand opening of the new PrimoSports Golf Park and Bar & Grill earlier this month. The golf park, located on the corner of Durland Road and Route 94 in Florida, is the result of a recent expansion of PrimoSports, an indoor/outdoor sports center at 1741 Route 17A, also in the Village of Florida. That center, which opened in 2007, was the lifelong dream for partners Luca Spensieri and Jim Lagarde, who met at Burke Catholic High School while Lagarde was the boys varsity soccer coach. Lagarde and Spensieri realized they both had a passion for soccer and wanted kids and adults alike to be able to play their sport year round. This past spring they decided to expand their business with the opening of PrimoSports Golf Park and Bar and Grill. The additional location offers a par 3 golf course, driving range, batting cages, mini golf, beach volleyball, kids play sand area and a popular bar and grill. It also offers instructional golf summer camps with United States Golf Teachers Federation certified instructors John Tether and Doug Pierce. Camp dates still available are July 30 to Aug. 2, Aug. 6-9 and Aug. 13-16. “The golf park is also a great place to host your birthday party, family fun nights, corporate picnics or family reunions,” said Lagarde. “And we have live entertainment and special events on the weekends.” The golf park is open seven days and the grill serves food daily from noon to 9 p.m. Additional information is available on Facebook and at www.primosports.net or call 651-5001.
