Here’s a summary of endorsements, fund raisers and related campaign items for the 2013 political season:

Rabbitt endorsed by the Police Chiefs’ Association

GOSHEN — Annie Rabitt, the Republican candidate for Orange County Clerk, has received the endorsement of the Police Chiefs’ Association of Orange County. Rabbitt, the assemblywoman from Greenwood Lake, had earlier received the backing of the NYS Fraternal Order of Police.

In a letter to Rabbitt, Chief Daniel Doellinger, Secretary for the Police Chiefs’ Association of Orange County, stated“We voted unanimously to endorse your candidacy of the office of Orange County Clerk,” Town of Chester Police Chief Daniel Doellinger wrote in the press release announcing the endorsement. “On behalf of the members of our association, we wish you the best of luck in your campaign and look forward to working with you in your new position next year.”

Doellinger is secretary for the Police Chiefs’ Association.


Blooming Grove Democrats introduce county and local candidates

BLOOMING GROVE — The Blooming Grove Democratic Committee held a fund raiser July 28 to introduce the Democratic slate on the county and local levels to the attendees.

Roxanne Donnery, candidate for County Executive, Deborah Mulqueen, candidate for County Clerk, Michael Isgur, candidate for County District Attorney, Brett Broge, Michele Murphy, Matt Turnbull and Shannon Wong, all candidates running to represent the Town of Blooming Grove in the Orange County legislature, attended.

Robert Fromaget, candidate for Blooming Grove Town Supervisor, Janette McKay and Johanna Kiernan, candidates for Town Council, and Ralph Bisquert, candidate for Highway Superintendent, also were on hand.

Assemblyman James Skoufis encouraged everyone to support the Democratic ticket and vote on Nov. 5.

Hoovler endorsed by Greenwood Lake mayor and Warwick supervisor

GREENWOOD LAKE — Warwick Town Supervisor Michael Sweeton and Village of Greenwood Lake Mayor Jesse Dwyer announced their support of David M. Hoovler’s campaign for Orange County District Attorney at the recent clambake at the Lake event in Greenwood Lake.

“His comprehensive and thoughtful plan to transform the Office of District Attorney will ensure the safety of Orange County residents for many years,” Sweeton said in the press release announcing the endorsement.

“Dave has a proven track record of being tough on crime while remaining compassionate to the needs of Orange County residents,” Dwyer added in the same release.

Hoovler is also the endorsed candidate of the Orange County Republican, Independence, and Conservative parties, allowing him to appear on three ballot lines in November.
