— The Warwick Valley Gardeners are excited about the addition of two educational signs at the Pine Island Park Butterfly Garden/ Habitat.

While traveling in South Carolina, Maureen Charde, a member of the garden team, visited the Coastal Discovery Center, There, she saw the signs posted describing butterflies and thought they would be a wonderful addition to the garden in Pine Island.

The gardeners purchased the rights to duplicate them and the software to create them. Paul Hudler, Town of Warwick sign maker, made and installed the signs at the garden. One shows the life cycle of the butterfly, the other the anatomy of the butterfly.

The garden has become such a popular attraction at the park that the gardeners are planning to expand it. They will also be adding a dragonfly habitat.

The Warwick Valley Gardeners plant and maintain nine gardens throughout the town and village. For more information, go to www.warwickvalleygardeners.com.
