— The Warwick community showed an enormous amount of support for the Zumba for the Cause… Party for the Paws Fundraiser last Friday, June 14. More than 700 people came out to show their support to the Warwick Valley Humane Society by participating in Zumba and the tricky tray. The energy that filled the Warwick Valley Middle School cafeteria was tremendous.

Several firemen, led by Rob Pappas from the Goodwill Hook and Ladder Fire Company, were present to offer assistance for the entire night. Warwick ShopRite donated all of the food and beverages for sale, and provided multiple workers to run the concession area. The music, donated by DJ Barry Ruzzi, completed the party atmosphere of the night to the almost 200 Zumba dancers.

Chrissy Carter from Chris Carter photography donated her time and captured the entire night, frame by frame.

The Zumba for the Cause…Party for the Paws Fundraiser raised over $7,500 for the Warwick Valley Humane Society.

“We really couldn’t have asked for a more perfect night,” said Annie Tinnirello, who teaches Zumba with Annie T. at Vastu in Warwick, and ran the event. “Our event raised more money tonight than in the society’s history of events."

"We knew this was going to be big, but we really had no idea how big," said Adrienne Lepre, who coordinated and marketed the event. "Next year we are committed to raising even more money.”

One of the top gold sponsors, Adam Powers from Fetch Bar and Grill, has already committed to joining the cause again next year. In addition to the check that was presented to board members Michelle Little and Lee Peterson, Tinnirello and Lepre provided them with a truck load of pet donations that were collected the night of the event.

“We could not have done all of this without the outpouring of support from our Warwick community and neighboring communities," said Tinnirello. "Our own Zumba girls, a.k.a. the Z-crew, hustled and rallied for us. We could not feel any prouder of how we all came together.”

The Zumba for the Cause…Party for the Paws Fundraiser received sponsorships from Fetch Bar and Grill, NY Dance Center, Hometown Pediatrician, The Green Team Real Estate Group, Law Office of Jacob Tuckfelt, FAS Training, Village Tire, and The Sugar Loaf Guild.
