ORMC’s organ donors save 13 lives

TOWN OF WALLKILL — Throughout 2012, Orange Regional Medical Center had four organ donors from whom eight kidneys, one pancreas, three livers and two hearts were recovered.
The recipients of the organs ranged in age from 17 to 70 years old
“It has been so gratifying to see how supportive the Orange Regional physicians and nurses are when a family chooses donation,” Jennifer Dillon, hospital services specialist with the New York Organ Donor Network, said in the hospital’s press release announcing the donations. “The hospital staff has exhibited a truly collaborative spirit when it comes to creating a beautiful legacy and saving the lives of those in need of a transplant.”
Orange Regional is a strong supporter of New York Organ Donor Network, an organization dedicated to the recovery of organs and tissues for people in need of life-saving and life-improving transplants, the hospital added in its press release.
