Orange County Film Office seeks contacts of film professionals

SUGAR LOAF — The Orange County Arts Council has launched a new Web site to promote Orange County as a film-friendly location in order to attract new and larger television and film projects: www.orangecountynyfilm.org.
The Web site features photographs of Orange County landscapes, historic architecture and other unique buildings. In addition to promoting the beauty of the county, the site also provides contact information for those resources needed by the film industry. It offers a place for film professionals to be listed and found, provide information regarding the tax credit incentives and shows examples of films that have already been made here, according to the council’s press release announcing the Web site.
The Orange County Arts Council began the development of a county-wide film office last April. The office aims to attract more film industry jobs and encourage spending in the county while increasing and maintaining film and video production here. The film office will also measure the economic impact of the industry on the county and offer coordination and leadership, while serving as the liaison between the film industry and Orange County municipalities, agencies, services and businesses, council officials indicated the press release.
