Orange County employees raise $2,005 for Lap4Life Foundation

GOSHEN — On behalf of Orange County Government employees, County Executive Edward A. Diana presented $2,005 in donations to the Lap4Life Foundation. The funds were raised from contributions by county employees who participated in two "Casual for a Cause" dress down Friday events held earlier this year. Employees participating in the events made a $5 donation for the opportunity to dress in business casual attire for the day.
Newburgh-based Lap4Life is a non-profit organization founded by Maddalena Casabianca-Reade in honor of her brother, Dr. Angelo Casabianca, to raise money and awareness for Desmoid tumor and organ transplant research. Their primary fundraiser is a four-mile run/walk race event around Chadwick Lake in the Town of Newburgh. Diana joined Casabianca-Reade in welcoming participants to the 5th annual Lap4Life event in June and started off the runners. Orange County Government employees also fielded a Healthy Orange team to participate in the walk, named "Team Eddie."
