WARWICK — Physical Therapist Dr. Rick Rutkowski stated that he is extremely proud to have had the opportunity to work all these years with so many amazing local residents, physicians and his own very proficient and caring staff.

On Nov. 4, Town of Warwick Supervisor Michael Sweeton, Mayor Michael Newhard and members of the Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce joined Rutkowski and his staff to celebrate the 15th anniversary of Optimum Performance Physical Therapy.

Rutkowski has served for more than 25 years as a physical therapist and personal trainer. Over that time he earned his clinical doctoral degree and multiple certifications.

Early in his career Rutkowski attended a four-month sports medicine fellowship observing some of the most well-renowned orthopedic surgeons in the country while also earning hundreds of hours in athletic training.

He became director at an upstate hospital and then practiced at privately owned offices before starting Optimum Performance Physical Therapy, originally located in the Village of Florida.

Over the last 10 years the home of Optimum Performance Physical Therapy has been in the Warwick Wellness Center located at 214 West St. just off County 1.

"During the past 15 years," said Rutkowski, "our practice has grown considerably and now treats people of all ages with a multitude of various issues and conditions. We are the premier source of orthopedic and sports rehabilitation and offer custom fitness programs for running, movement screens and orthotics."

Optimum Performance, he added, is the only practice to offer the latest in advanced orthopedic equipment including an anti-gravity running machine called the Alter G.

"We are proud," he said, "to continue to serve the local residents and will always strive to offer the latest science based programs with compassionate hands on care and prescriptive exercise programs."
