Old dogs and cats available for new tricks

WARWICK — To celebrate National Adopt a Senior Pet Month during November, the Warwick Valley Humane Society is offering free adoptions on all designated senior homeless cats and dogs ages 8 and above for approved applicants
This group includes six dogs and 12 cats, some of whom have been at the shelter for more than five years.
"Senior pets still have a lot of living to do," Humane Society President Suzyn Barron said, "and will so appreciate the love and TLC of a new family."
In addition, veterans who wish to adopt may name their own adoption fee for any non-senior pet.
Active duty service members are welcome to foster with the option to adopt when relocation is no longer an issue.
“It is our hope that we can make a match for a person or family willing to open their heart and home to a shelter pet with this small way of saying thank you on the behalf of the over 200 homeless pets in our community” Barron said.
The Warwick Animal shelter is open seven days a week from noon until 4 p.m. at 48 Public Works Drive.
If you can’t adopt, please consider sponsoring a pet, making a donation or volunteering. For more information, visit www.wvhumane.org or call 845-986-2473.
