Occupations honors community leaders at gala

The Occupations Foundation celebrated 50 years of service for Occupations, Inc., and 20 years of service for Family Empowerment Council in December, recognizing six community leaders and their families with its Vision of Hope Award.
The honorees included Fred and Helen Dana and the Dana Family, William J. Larkin, Jr., and Patricia Larkin, the Kaplan Family Charitable Foundations, John and Cecile Jardine and the Jardine Family, James and Nancy Smith, and Hal and Jennifer Teitelbaum. All have made significant contributions to the past, present and future of the Occupations System of Care for over five decades and helped to create a vision of hope for children, adults and families with special needs in the Hudson Valley community and beyond, according to a release by Occupations.
Honorary chairs for the event were last year’s Vision of Hope award recipients Donna Applegate and Jonah Mandelbaum. Gala Committee co-chairs are Maureen Crush, Esq., of deRamon Crush, PC, and Occupations Foundation Board Member Nick Preddice, president of The Affinity Group, LLP.
The Occupations Foundation partnered with Provident Bank as the dinner host sponsor; Crystal Run Healthcare as the cocktail reception sponsor; Relph Benefit Advisors as the live auction sponsor; Donna Applegate and Jonah Mandelbaum as the entertainment sponsor; Advance Testing, KeyBank, Harness Advisors, and Columbia Development Companies as silver sponsors; and Alders Wholesale Florist as the floral sponsor, along with several other community organizations and leaders who sponsored this event.
