Village of Warwick to flush hydrants beginning Aug. 7WARWICK — The Village of Warwick will be flushing fire hydrants starting Monday, Aug. 7, from approximately 7 p.m. until midnight.
This will be done every evening until all the fire hydrants are completed.
This is done during the evening to cause as little inconvenience as possible for the village residents.
According to Chris Bennett, the village's distribution supervisor, the water may be discolored but will clear up and is not harmful. He also noted that residents may experience some pressure problems while the fire hydrants are being flushed.
Town of Warwick to open new transit facility WARWICK — On Monday, Aug. 15, the Town of Warwick will officially open a new transit center at 63 Public Works Drive just off Kings Highway.
The facility is intended to expand transportation opportunities, in cooperation with neighboring municipalities, to other parts of the Orange County.
The new Warwick Transit Center was funded by grants from the Federal Transit Administration and the New York Department of Transportation in cooperation with Orange County.
Town of Warwick Supervisor Michael Sweeton explained that the new facility was much needed because the fleet has expanded to 12 busses, which not only serve the Dial-A-Bus program but also provide fixed routes to major locations in the county and to other transit connections.
