Neuhaus announces Santa’s Toy box to collect toys for disadvantaged children in the county

    GOSHEN — Santa’s Toy Box, the annual toy drive for disadvantaged children in Orange County, will begin collecting donations of new toys and games over Thanksgiving weekend and continue through Dec. 21.
    “Generosity is what the holidays are all about,” Orange County Executive Steven M. Neuhaus said. “There are families in Orange County that unfortunately can’t provide gifts for their children and even the smallest gift can make a difference. I encourage residents who can to donate a new, unwrapped toy so children who wouldn’t otherwise, can experience the joy of receiving a gift this year.”
    Donations will be distributed to families in Orange County via organizations such as the Farmworkers Community Center and the Emergency Housing Group.
    Santa’s Toy Box has been in operation for 33 years and is sponsored by the Orange County Department of Parks with assistance from New Winds Opportunity Center and Rehabilitation Support Services.
    Among the places were collection boxes for new toys and games will be available are:
    • Graham M. Skea Lodge: Thomas Bull Memorial Park, Route 416, Campbell Hall
    • Orange Ulster BOCES: Special Education Building, Gibson Road, Goshen
    • Montgomery Town Hall: 110 Bracken Road
    • Chester Town Hall: 1786 Kings Highway
    • Warwick Village Hall: Main Street (Route 17A)
    • Albert Wisner Public Library: 1 McFarland Drive, Warwick
    • Monroe Town Hall: 1465 Orange Turnpike
    • Greenwood Lake Elementary School: 80 Water Stone Road
    • Greenwood Lake Middle School: 1247 Lakes Road
    • Blooming Grove Town Hall: 6 Horton Road
