Mount Alverno receptionist June Dickten given surprise retirement party after 25 years of service

WARWICK— On Thursday, Feb. 27, the staff and residents of Mount Alverno Center, surprised June Dickten, who had retired from her position as communications clerk after 25 years of service, with a ceremony, cake and sparkling cider toast at the residents’ luncheon followed by a staff reception

Mount Alverno Center, an adult residence and assisted living program on the Warwick campus of the Bon Secours Charity Health System.

Dickten and her late husband, Vern, were also musical entertainers at this and other facilities.

“My only retirement plan,” she quipped, “is to keep out of trouble."
