More than 500 cyclists participate in Orange County's Farm to Fork Fondo

WARWICK — It's described as a party on wheels where the guests are a unique mix of accomplished cyclists and novice riders.
On a warm Sunday morning, June 11, more than 500 cyclists, for the second consecutive year, rode from Pennings Farm and Cidery in distance options for cyclists of all abilities.
The event, "Farm to Fork Fondo," was presented by Wrenegade Sports LLC and hosted by Pennings Farm Cidery and Pennings Market.
A few minutes before the start of the ride, Orange County Executive Steve Neuhaus, Town of Warwick Supervisor Michael Sweeton and Tyler Wren, organizer of the event, welcomed and addressed the cyclists.
Neuhaus told the cyclists that the "Farm to Fork Fondo" would highlight Orange County's distinctive agriculture with locally sourced pre- and post-meals, and mid-ride aid stations hosted by working farms.

The rides throughout Orange County ranged from a 10-mile family friendly "Ramble Ride" to a grueling 87-mile "Gran Fondo."
All the riders finished back at Pennings, where they had an opportunity to enjoy a country fair style after-ride barbecue and celebration.
The Farm to Fork Fondo series is supported by New Holland Agriculture, Colavita USA, Bianchi Bicycles, and other local and national-level sponsors. The series also includes events in Vermont, Pennsylvania Dutch country and Maine, all organized by Wrenegade Sports.
