More than 500 cyclists participate in Farm to Fork Fondo at Warwick Valley Winery

WARWICK — It's described as a party on wheels where the guests are a unique mix of accomplished cyclists and novice riders.
On a cloudy Sunday morning, June 10, more than 500 cyclists rode from the picturesque Warwick Valley Winery, the host for this year's event, in distance options throughout Orange County for cyclists of all abilities.
Warwick Valley Winery & Distillery, 114 Little York Road, is located between Mt. Eve and Mt. Adam.
The event, "Farm to Fork Fondo," was presented by Wrenegade Sports LLC.
Farm to Fork Fondo is a series of non-competitive cycling events in farmland regions throughout the Northeastern United States.
The mission of the Farm to Fork Fondo series is to highlight and support the symbiotic relationship between cyclists, farmers and beautiful landscapes. Ride options include several on-farm aid stations where participants sample chef-prepared treats made from each farm's ingredients.
After a short countdown, winery co-owner Jason Grizzanti, driving his huge tractor, led the group down the hill from the winery to Little York Road.
The rides throughout Orange County ranged from a 10-mile family friendly "Ramble Ride" to a grueling 87-mile "Gran Fondo."
All the riders finished back at the Warwick Valley Winery, where they had an opportunity to enjoy a country fair style after-ride barbecue and celebration, live music from Vera and the Force Band, a competition awards ceremony, distillery and cidery tasting room; beer and cider garden.
