Monroe. Monroe/Woodbury Interfaith Council to host panel discussion on ‘how we treat the strange’

| 24 Apr 2023 | 03:06

On Sunday, April 30, from 4 until 6 p.m., clergy from several local congregations will discuss “how we treat the strange”’ and answer questions from the audience at Monroe Temple – 314 North Main St., Monroe.

Specifically, the question is: “What does your religion teach us about how we are to conduct ourselves toward the stranger?”

The goal of this event is to bring members of different religious faiths together to begin to understand each other, accept and tolerate each other and create paths to work together to help bridge the gap between different social, racial and economic justice groups.

    Light refreshments will be served.

This event is free to attend. If you are able, please bring a non-perishable food item for the local food pantry and/or make a donation to your clergy member’s favorite charity. Please RSVP to laurenvitkovsky@monroetemple.org so we have enough seats and refreshments. Please include any questions have for the clergy related to the main topic.

This program is presented by the Monroe/Woodbury Interfaith Council, the Monroe Temple Social Action Committee and the Monroe Temple Sisterhood/WRJ, and was made possible by a grant from The Jewish Federation of Greater Orange County.
