— Find a need and fill it.
In 2016 Carlos Morales and his business partner, Luis Barajas realized that the Village of Greenwood Lake needed a Mexican restaurant.
And when a building became available, they put together what they believed would be an awesome menu of authentic Mexican meals and in May of that year, opened their family restaurant, Mexicanzingo.
On Thursday, May 10, Assemblyman Karl Brabenec, Greenwood Lake Mayor Jesse Dwyer, Town of Warwick Councilman Floyd DeAngelo and members of both the Warwick Valley and Greenwood Lake Chambers of Commerce joined owners Carlos and Ana Morales and Luis Barajas, their relatives, friends and staff to celebrate the second anniversary of Mexicanzingo.
Being so close to the Greenwood Lake beach, summer take-out is a large part of the restaurant's summer business.
But Mexicanzingo, located at 104 Windermere Avenue, is open all year, not just summer.
"Any time of the year you can come in and ask for the Mexicanzingo Platter, which is the most popular feature on our menu," said Carlos Morales. "The fresh ingredients that characterize the traditional meals of Mexico like steak, chicken, shrimp, onions, tomatoes, homemade guacamole, rice, beans and salad, make up this mouth-watering Mexican specialty."
Mexicanzingo, a red bricked, intimate and friendly looking restaurant, is open seven days a week and conveniently located within a few miles of the Village of Warwick as well as Monroe and West Milford.
