Mechanical Rubber acquires manufacturer from Fairfield. N.J.
WARWICK — Mechanical Rubber in Warwick acquired Prestige Rubber Manufacturing Company of Fairfield, N.J., in January in what the company described as its continuing commitment to satisfy customer requirements in a variety of industries.
The asset purchase included extrusion dies, mandrels, compounds, expansion joint forms and customer order records. Mechanical Rubber will be 100 percent operational with all of Prestige's manufacturing capabilities.
Prestige is a leading manufacturer of rubber elastomer expansion joints as well as mandrel-cured wrapped rubber tubing. Products are sold to OEMs, end users and distributors throughout North America and Europe in the commercial, industrial, military, and pharmaceutical markets.
"We believe that increasing our extrusion portfolio as well as adding rubber expansion joints would expand our capabilities to offer these high quality products to our HVAC, oil and gas, material handling and military/defense customers as currently provided to our aerospace customers," Cedric Glasper, president and CEO, said in the company's press release announcing the acquisition. "We also felt that the legacy established by Precise Products/Prestige Rubber enhances our capabilities and expertise."
Steve Kelley has joined Mechanical Rubber and will be responsible for national sales. He brings more than 20 years experience in rubber products sales, as well as six years experience in aerospace products.
