GREENWOOD LAKE — On Tuesday, Aug. 14, Greenwood Lake Mayor Barbara Moore and Kevin Sweeney, president of the Greenwood Lake Merchants Guild, joined owner David Devore for the grand opening of his new restaurant, Mangos Tortilla Grill.
The eatery, which Devore reports is Greenwood Lake’s first American/Mexican-style restaurant, is located at 104 Windermere Ave.
The concept behind Mangos is a blend of a Chipotle-style burrito and taco take-out and a more traditional Mexican style restaurant. The menu includes favorites such as chimichangas, Mexican pizzas, enchiladas, quesadillas and nachos. Mangos Tortilla Grill also features California sandwich wraps and a special priced rotisserie chicken served with rice and beans.
“Everything is fresh and made from scratch,” said Devore. “And there is also fresh guacamole made daily.”
Devore is no stranger to the restaurant business or the Town of Warwick.
In 2003 he sold Caffé a la Mode, a successful restaurant he had established on the corner of Railroad and Oakland Avenues in the Village of Warwick.
At that time Devore wanted to open a restaurant that was different from others in the area. He believed the Village of Warwick was the right place to establish one that offered a large assortment of premium gourmet and flavored coffees.
This time he decided that Greenwood Lake, where he now lives, was ready for an eatery that was new and different from others in the area.
Mangos Tortilla Grill is open Monday through Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on Sundays from 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
