GOSHEN — It's almost Rosh Hashanah, and things are getting sweeter.
"What better way to celebrate the upcoming new year than healthy honey activities?" says Rivkie Borenstein (#Sweetnewyear), director of Chabad of Orange County, located in Goshen.
Chabad is planning its "Rosh Hashanah Sweet Shoppe" from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 17, at 12 North Church St. in Goshen. Children ages 3 to 13 will learn to make honey treats in honor of the new year.
"On Rosh Hashanah we dip apples into honey with wishes for a sweet new year," Borenstein said.
Local organic raw honey will be used to create honey lip balm and honey toffee lollies. The kids will also made a challah honey dish container.
The cost is $6 for children or $20 for a family. For more information or to reserve a spot, email chabadoc@aol.com or call 291-0514
Rosh Hashanah 2017 will begin in the evening of Wednesday, Sept. 20, and ends in the evening of Friday, Sept. 22.
