WARWICK — The expanded parking lot at Albert Wisner Public Library is now open
The library added 58 more slots for a total of 117 parking spaces, including five handicapped spots.
This project, funded in part with New York State Public Library Construction Grant funds, is the Library Board’s response to the growing need for parking since the library opened in November 2009.
The expansion will provide safe access to the library for popular programs and services, eliminating the need for parking along McFarland Drive.
A fully accessible patio and performance area with outside seating, as well as a pathway with solar lighting leading to Memorial Park, are being completed.
They will be open to the public in the spring of 2018.
This new area will include tables and umbrellas provided by the Library Foundation for use when the area is not being used for library programs and performances.
This project is a partnership with the library and the Village of Warwick. Rules for use of the parking lot will be established by the village and posted in the lot.
