Library to host workshop for single parents on Sept. 23

    WARWICK — On Saturday, Sept. 23, at 10 a.m., Family Central at the Albert Wisner Public Library will present Managing Life as a Single Parent with Diane Lang.
    Whether you're single by choice or because of divorce, loss or separation, this parenting class will help you manage your life more effectively.
    Topics covered include:
    • Taking care of your children - and yourself;
    • Being a positive parent – teaching children through role-modeling;
    • Learn the benefits of being a single parent;
    • Take the guilt out of being a single parent;
    • Improve your listening and empathy skills; and
    • Feel confident in your parenting.

    Lang is a therapist, educator and life coach. Through her two books, “Creating Balance & Finding Happiness” and “Baby Steps: the Path from Motherhood to Career,” Lang has been speaking and empowering people nationwide. She is also an adjunct in Psychology at Montclair State University, where her college work includes mentoring students for personal issue advisement.
    Family Central is a non-profit parenting support network based in Warwick and partnering with the library. Their mission is to strengthen the role of community in supporting the well-being of families and children.
