Library hosts parenting education class on Feb. 13

WARWICK — Former Warwick Valley teacher Beverly Braxton and Mary Krauze (Conscious Parenting, LLC) will present a two-hour education workshop at the Albert Wisner Public Library on Thursday, Feb. 13, at 6 p.m.

The workshop is entitled “Is Earlier Really Better? The Push for Academic Learning in the Pre-School Environment.”

The workshop is designed to support parents, grandparents, pre-school teachers and other caregivers of young children. Topics included for discussion are:

What are some developmental challenges facing young children?

Does early academic instruction benefit young children and give them an edge in school readiness?

How does early academic instruction affect self esteem?

What kinds of learning experiences are in the best interest of young children?
