Law Office of Jacob Tuckfelt, LLC, celebrates first anniversary

WARWICK — On Wednesday, Aug. 21, local officials and members of the Warwick Valley Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors joined attorney Jacob Tuckfelt and his staff to celebrate the one-year anniversary of his firm's location at 11 Oakland Ave.
The Law Office of Jacob Tuckfelt, LLC was founded by Tuckfelt, a native of Warwick, who has since been joined by paralegal Jennifer Todd.
Tuckfelt explained that his legal practice is focused on family and matrimonial law with an emphasis on meeting the specific needs of each client.
"Sometimes it's necessary to go immediately to the courts, to advance a client's interests or to protect children," he said. "However, where appropriate, I encourage less confrontational approaches, such as mediation and collaborative divorce."
Tuckfelt graduated at the top of his class from Cornell University and earned his Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from Pace University School of Law. While at Pace, Tuckfelt interned with federal and state judges, and prosecuted criminal cases at the Westchester County District Attorney's Office. He then worked as an associate in the family law department of a local firm before leaving to open his own law practice.
"I grew up in Warwick watching my parents serve the community," said Tuckfelt. "They made careers of helping others through difficult life situations. Now, as an attorney in my hometown, I have an opportunity to do the same."
Tuckfelt is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey. He is a member of the Orange County Bar Association, the New York State and New Jersey State Bar Associations and the Hudson Valley Collaborative Divorce and Dispute Resolution Association. He is also a member of the Warwick Rotary Club, a director of the Warwick Foundation for Excellence in Learning, and an advisor to the Warwick Conservancy.
