Late winter snow

Last Friday and Saturday, March 7-8, a late winter snowstorm surprised everyone in the Warwick area by being much more severe than predicted. Mt. Peter Ski Area reported 14 inches of new fallen snow topping, by a wide margin, earlier forecasts of light to moderate snow with accumulations of one to four inches. The heavy wet snow was also harder to plow than previous snowfalls this season making travel conditions more difficult. Warwick schools were closed on Friday. A blanket of fresh snow, however, produced picturesque scenes like this one just off Wisner Road.
