Kids Club House celebrates 20th anniversary June 2

PINE ISLAND Kids Club House will be holding its 20th anniversary celebration on Saturday, June 2, in Pine Island Park from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.
The program will include a visit from Bingo the Dog, a T-shirt give-a-way, face painting, and lots of silly fun.
One of the joys of being an educator is that you become friends with the families who bring their children to our school, owner Carol Lahti said in a press release announcing the celebration. It will be fun to have a day to celebrate with our current and past students, their families, and our staff. The families of this community are devoted and the connections we share as we take on the task of educating these young minds is enormously rewarding.
Lahti is donating a dogwood tree to be planted in the Pine Island Park next to the childrens butterfly garden that Kids Club House made stepping-stones for last year.
Pine Island has been our home for the past six years and we love the tight-knit community that lives here, Lahti added. Our students go to Pine Island Park before and after classes and we enjoy having special events there throughout the year. We feel lucky to have such a wonderful park close-by that is so well maintained for our young friends and thought it would be a nice way to give back to the community by adding to its beauty with a tree.
The current class of Kids Club House students will paint 20 stones to be placed around the dogwood tree in honor of the 20 years that the local school has been in business educating children
Activities for all Pine Island Park will be a busy place on June 2:
The W. Rogowski Farm will be selling lemonade and picnic sandwiches at the Kids Club House celebration.
The Warwick Valley Gardeners will be hosting their annual plant sale under the pavilion.
There will be many butterfly-themed childrens activities planned for day.
The 4-H Club and Warwick Valley High School students will run childrens activities at the Pine Island Chamber of Commerce Tent.
