Juilliard musicians join Youth Symphony in concert on May 4

CENTRAL VALLEY — Students from the Juilliard School of Music will join the Southern Hudson Valley Youth Symphony for their premiere spring concert on Sunday, May 4, at 3:30 p.m., will take place at Monroe-Woodbury High School.
Alex Marrero, the symphony's executive director, also invited students from students from the Manhattan School of Music to join the ensemble as well.
The program will include the "Ballet Suite to Swan Lake" by Tchaikovsky, the "Variations on a Shaker Hymn" by Copland and the "Can-Can" from Orpheus by Offenbach.
The Southern Hudson Valley Youth Symphony draws its musicians from Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties. The group was formally known as the Orange County Youth Symphony.
Tickets are available at the door. Cost of admission is $12 for adults and $8 for students and seniors.
