The staff and directors of the Warwick Valley Humane Society are willing to do just about anything for all the homeless pets in their care, including partnering with Jordan’s Way for a live feed Facebook fund raiser.

It’s happening this Saturday, Aug. 14, from 6 to 10 p.m. at the animal shelter with proceeds going toward the society’s capital campaign fund for the building of a new shelter facility. The animal shelter is more than 50 years old and in desperate need of expansion, ventilation and upgrading. Through grants and private donations, the Warwick Valley Humane Society has raised $1.4 million dollars toward its goal and still have a ways to go.

The goal: $15,000

Jordan’s Way is a fund-raising organization dedicated to raising awareness and funds for shelters and rescues in an effort to place homeless dogs with loving, lasting families. The organization is on a 50-state tour and the Warwick Valley Humane Society was chosen to be one of their stops. This fund raiser has already launched on Facebook at Warwick Valley Humane Society FB with a goal of raising $15,000 for the sponsorship of one of several new kennels.

How this story begins

The founder of Jordan’s Way is Kris Rotonda, who met “ his best friend and inspiration 11 years ago at a local shelter. Jordan had spent her whole life in a shelter until Rotonda was able to rescue her. Over the years they helped each other grow as their bond strengthened. Many of us know the profound affect that an animal can have on your life, and the impact that we have when we rescue shelter pets.

Jordan passed in the fall of 2018 after a battle with cancer. Rotonda made a promise to honor her life by helping as many shelters in need as possible, founding Jordan’s Way.

According to Jordan’s Way, “There are groups of compassionate animal lovers working hard to save these animals and find them proper homes, however, sometimes these people have trouble successfully sharing what they do with the world. Our goal at Jordan’s Way is to amplify the great work of shelters around the country.”
