Jewish Federation announces new grants initiative

The Jewish Federation of Greater Orange County is excited to announce their first round of Jewish in Orange County Micro-Grants.
“The goal of this program is to bring out new ideas in the Orange County Jewish community,” said Rabbi Rachel Rubenstein, the executive director of the Federation. “We are looking for ideas which will bring the community together, will positively impact the community, will connect people to one another, and will help the community learn and grow together.”
The Jewish in OC Micro-Grants will be used to fund initiatives that engage the Jewish community in community building, in social justice, and in experiential education. Grants will be allocated in the range of $250-$750 per initiative, with a focus on new and innovative ideas that bring energy and life to the community.
“This is an opportunity to be creative and innovative directed at addressing needs in our community. We encourage people of all ages to present their ideas,” said Steve Rubinsky, Jewish Federation board member and chair of the Jewish in OC Micro-Grants Initiative.
Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis, with priority given to application received by Aug. 31. Members of the Jewish in OC Micro-Grants committee are also available to help applicants with crafting a strong application and in learning and improving their grant-writing skills.
