Jacobowitz and Gubits works hard for nonprofits

WALDEN — Jacobowitz and Gubits is proud to be a part of the fabric of the Hudson Valley and shows it through participation in many nonprofit campaigns. In October alone, Jacobowitz and Gubits supported the O+ Festival, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer and the Hambletonian Marathon and Good Time Trotters Relay.
From Friday, Oct. 11, thru Sunday, Oct. 13, Jacobowitz and Gubits lent its support to the 4th annual O+ Festival in Kingston. The festival raises awareness of music, art and public health in the Hudson Valley. The grassroots arts and health festival was started in Kingston in 2010 and has since spread to San Francisco, where its sister festival is held simultaneously.
By programming the festival’s art and music events in various venues - bars, restaurants, storefronts, even offices - throughout one neighborhood, O+ supports and unites local businesses and residents, artists, musicians and doctors, strengthening the fabric of a community to make it stronger, more sustainable, and more vibrant.
On Oct. 20, Jacobowitz and Gubits took part in the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, the region’s largest single effort to combat the second leading cause of death in women in the United States.
Partners and associates walked among 11,000 people who helped raise more than $700,000 for the cause.
On the same day, several partners and associates joined more than 250 runners in the inaugural Hambletonian Marathon and Good Time Trotters Relay in Goshen. The relay race supported the Hambletonian Society and The Heritage Trail, and provided a boost in business to dozens of local establishments throughout the weekend.
“Jacobowitz and Gubits is very active in our community," said Larry Wolinksy, managing partner at Jacobowitz and Gubits. "Sponsoring and participating in events that benefit nonprofit organizations has a residual effect that reverberates through the region and benefits us all.”
