It takes a village to grow a garden

WARWICK — Members of the Warwick Community Garden were happy to get their hands back in the dirt as they readied the garden for its third season of planting last weekend.

The weather cooperated beautifully and a couple of dozen or so volunteer gardeners arrived with tools in hand to set about cleaning and prepping the garden that is situated right behind the Warwick Community Center. The weekend’s work included rototilling and composting, getting the exterior perimeter wood-chipped and the paths partially weeded, and even planting some fingerling potatoes!

“We have a terrific group of people,” said Geoff Howard, community garden coordinator, “who enjoy getting out there and helping to create this wonderful and productive green space in the center of town.”
