Hospice recognizes staff and volunteers at annual recognition dinner

NEWBURGH — On Nov. 28, at the Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties staff and volunteer recognition dinner President and CEO Daniel M. Grady was recognized for his thirty years of vision and dedication to Hospice, as well as thirty-year board members A. Vincent Mazzie, Barbara Naru and hospice volunteer Delores Vavricka.
The annual event that recognizes both staff and volunteers for their years of service was held at Villa Venezia.
Longtime Hospice volunteer Betty Cappelleri received the Thomas P. Sullivan Volunteer of the Year Award for her long-time commitment to Hospice. Her prolific background in healthcare as a retired nurse and certified childbirth educator has made her a tremendous asset to our organization not only as a volunteer trainer, but also as a patient volunteer, offering support to patients and families at home and in skilled nursing facilities.
