    To get everyone in the holiday spirit the Warwick Valley Chorale strolled along Main St. and Railroad Avenue, stopping at many of the shops and restaurants, singing Christmas carols and even a traditional Hanukkah children’s song, "I have a little Dreidle."

WARWICK — It was a blustery and chilly day last Sunday and that may have discouraged some people who were planning to visit downtown Warwick for the annual celebration of Home for the Holidays.
But those who did come out found it just as festive as usual.
The Merchant Guild and participating merchants had long been planning the popular event and they promise a bigger and better holiday season with a host of new ideas to encourage everyone to come on down, shop local and enjoy fun for the family.
And many of the downtown shops were decorated for the season and featured special offers and events.
Bertoni Gallery, 50 Main St., for example, offered the first in a series of arts/crafts demonstrations beginning with Creative Gift Wrapping taught by Rachel Bertoni.

The day also offered an opportunity to support the Warwick Ecumenical Food Pantry with the traditional Angel Tree on Main Street between Akin's Drug Store and Newhard's Gift Shop, which encourages and provides a way to donate Christmas gifts for the needy.
Home for the Holidays, which traditionally begins just before Thanksgiving and ends after Christmas, is an annual celebration designed to present downtown Warwick as a fun and convenient place to do all your holiday shopping. And the Warwick merchants want everyone to know that they offer convenience, quality merchandise, special sales, friendly personalized service including gift-wrapping and, in most cases a "wish" list to make things easier for gift givers.
Also, remember that this Saturday, Nov. 25, is "Small Business Saturday," a day to celebrate and support small businesses and all they do for their communities.
