Holiday gift boxes for U.S. soldiers

In honor of Veteran's Day and to say "Thank You" to those currently serving in the military, students, staff, PTA and families at Sanfordville Elementary School collected supplies to send to U.S. Army soldiers in the 52nd Ordnance Group (EOD) currently serving in Afghanistan. Throughout the week of Nov. 11 when Veteran's Day is celebrated, donations of items requested by the unit's commander were collected. In addition, students created projects and wrote letters of appreciation and encouragement to the troops. One class even raised money to offset the cost of shipping the boxes. All items received were then packaged into 28 individual gift boxes, known as "boodle" by the troops and shipped off to be enjoyed during the holiday season. Many thanks to all who participated for helping to make this effort such a huge success.
